Awhile ago a “head shrinker” told me I should increase my socialization. Then he told me I should start a blog. My first response was, “Why would anyone read the rambling thoughts of an old man?” Then I thought, “What if I offend someone?” My views, opinions, don’t always jibe with those of the people I associate with. Some of my friends might disagree with others who are my friends, or with my own opinions. He suggested that I was should stick my neck out, that people were reasonable and would accept me for who I am. I still have my doubts, but the truth is, without risk there are no rewards.
So here it is; a mind full of useless information, interested in things that put normal people to sleep. A person, who loves old books, the feel of leather bindings and the smell of old paper, loves to take photos but doesn’t like taking pictures of people. I’m interested in almost all the sciences, but can’t do math, interested in all religions, even ancient mythologies, but don’t claim one for myself.
I love almost all music including Jazz, Blues, and Rock (classic, metal, etc.), swing, and others. I don’t care much for Opera, Country, or Rap, but that’s probably because I didn’t grow up with them. If I had I might enjoy them too.
Photography is another interest of mine. I recently, grudgingly, moved over to digital and like what it does for color, though black and white don’t seem to work as well as colour.
My favorite artists are 19th Century Impressionists.
Anyway, here it is, I’ll be posting my photos and some thoughts off and on till I get the hang of this. Send a note if you have any thoughts yourself.
